Autoprinter is a Shopify app that prints your order paperwork and shipping labels for you. Packing slips, invoices, return slips, gift receipts and receipts print automatically as orders come in, or in bulk from your orders list, and each job goes to the right printer.

How Autoprinter works

Yes. Buy and print the label in Shopify as usual, and the Autoprinter Chrome Extension sends it straight to your label printer with zero clicks: no extra print dialog, preview or printer choice. Label capture needs Google Chrome on the computer where you buy labels.

Print Shopify shipping labels automatically

Not when your Print Station has a Document printer. When you print an international shipping label in Shopify, customs forms and any other full-page paperwork Shopify gives you with it print on your regular Letter or A4 printer, the Print Station's Document printer, and the 4 × 6 label prints on your label printer. Each page goes to the printer that matches its size, with no setting to change. This needs Desktop Utility 1.16.0 or later. With no Document printer set up, everything prints on the label printer.

Customs forms and other full-page paperwork

Any printer your Windows or macOS computer can already print a test page to, over USB or your network. Templates can use Letter, A4, 4 × 6 thermal labels, and 80 mm or 58 mm receipt rolls; built-in templates print on Letter or A4.

Paper sizes

Yes. The Desktop Utility runs on Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) and on macOS 13 Ventura or later, on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. It does not run on phones, tablets, Linux or ChromeOS.

Browser + OS Support

Yes. Built-in packing slips, invoices, return slips, gift receipts and pick slips print in English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch or Italian, with dates, prices and addresses in the style of the region you choose. You set it once under Settings → Language and format; Autoprinter's own screens stay in English.

Print documents in another language

Yes. When Shopify splits an order across fulfillment locations, each location gets its own packing slip listing only its items, and the invoice still covers the whole order. A Print Rule can send each location's documents to the Print Station there, and a split order counts once toward your monthly orders. If you pack every order in one place, choose one set per order in Settings instead: one packing slip, one return slip and one gift receipt for the whole order.

Multi-Location Printing

Yes, the Free plan covers 50 orders a month with every feature, and no card is needed. Basic is $10/month for 500 orders, Pro is $30/month for 2,500, and Unlimited is $100/month with no order limit. Paid plans add orders, not features or support, so there is no trial: start on Free and upgrade when you need more. An order counts once however many documents it prints.

Billing FAQ

Yes. Turn on the built-in template and choose what it shows with switches; it picks up the logo and brand colors you set in Settings. You can also start from more than 30 sample designs or write your own template in HTML and CSS.

Customize a built-in template

Yes. In-store Shopify POS sales print automatically, the same as online orders, for example a kitchen ticket or pickup slip on a receipt printer. Printing runs on a Windows or Mac computer at the store with the Desktop Utility, not on the POS iPad or phone, and it doesn't replace the customer receipt Shopify POS prints. Print Rules can give in-store sales different documents from online orders and send each store's walk-out sales to that store's printer. To leave in-store sales out, turn on Skip POS orders under Settings → Automatic Printing; skipped orders don't count toward your monthly orders.

Receipts and kitchen tickets

Yes. Autoprinter adds Flow actions that print an order's Print Chain, packing slip, invoice, return slip or gift receipt, or one pick list for your open orders, and Flow triggers that run when a document prints, a print fails, a Print Station goes offline or you near your monthly order limit. Any Flow workflow can use them, including workflows Sidekick drafts for you. You can also ask Sidekick what printed today, whether your printer is connected or why an order didn't print, and it answers from Autoprinter.

Print with Shopify Flow

Shopify Order Printer is Shopify's free app for customizing and printing invoices, packing slips and pick lists from your browser, up to 50 orders at a time. Autoprinter prints to your own printers automatically as orders come in, prints shipping labels with zero clicks, and sends each document to the right printer.

Autoprinter vs Shopify Order Printer

Autoprinter prints through its own Desktop Utility on your Windows or macOS computer, so you don't need an account with a separate print service. Shipping labels you buy in Shopify print with zero clicks. Print Rules choose the template and Print Station for each order by order total, payment method, shipping method, product, SKU, collection, tags and more. Shopify Flow actions and triggers print and report on printing, an order split across locations gets one packing slip per location or one set for the whole order, and pricing is by orders a month only, with every feature on every plan.

How to auto-print Shopify orders

Shopify's developer docs describe how an app gets the label file for a label the app buys itself. They don't describe a way for an app to read a label you bought yourself in Shopify admin, so an app either buys labels through its own integration or captures the label in your browser. Autoprinter captures it.
