Pick slips

A pick slip is a picking list. Select the orders you are about to pack, print one pick slip, and walk your shelves once instead of once per order.

What is on it#

A summary band with the number of orders, units, and lines, and the date range of the orders.
The items to pick, in one of two styles:
- By product combines every selected order into a single list. Ten orders that each include the same candle show as one line: "Candle × 10".
- By order prints a block for each order with its own items, order number, date, and PO number.
A signoff band with Picked by, Checked by, and Time, if you want one.

Pick slips only list what still needs to ship. Items that are already fulfilled are left off, and an order that is completely fulfilled is skipped.

Print one#

For several orders: in the Shopify orders list, tick the orders, choose Print → Autoprinter, and pick Pick Slip. You can include up to 50 orders in one pick slip.

For one order: open the order, choose Print → Autoprinter, and pick Pick Slip.

The pick slip opens as a preview. Print it from your browser with Cmd/Ctrl + P. It does not need a Print Station, and it does not use an order from your monthly allowance.

If you see "No usable Pick Slip template", open Templates → Pick Slips and turn on the built-in template.

Set it up your way#

Open Templates → Pick Slips → Customize to choose:

Picking style: By product or By order.
Sort items by: product name, SKU, or quantity.
Check-off boxes, product images, and SKU.
Show order breakdown, which lists the orders each item belongs to when you pick By product.
Operator signoff band and an optional Pick station label.

Give a product the Shopify tag fragile or hazmat and the slip flags it with a small F or H. For bin locations, build a custom pick slip and read a product metafield with the lookupBin helper. See the Template variables reference.

How pick slips differ from other documents#

One slip covers many orders. Every other document prints once per order.
They are not part of the Print Chain, so they do not print with Auto Print Chain or Automatic Printing. You print a pick slip when you are ready to pick.
Print Rules do not apply. A pick slip always uses your default Pick Slip template.
